The 2020 general election is right around the corner, and all 435 members of the United States (U.S.) House of Representatives—and 35 U.S. Senators—are up for re-election. This means that Members of Congress will be spending more time in their home district or state this year and are more available for in-district meetings with constituents as a result. You could even invite your lawmakers to visit your practice.
Meeting with Members of Congress is one of the most effective ways to ensure that they are aware of the realities and challenges of providing cancer care in their district and state, and with ASCO’s Advocacy at Home program, setting up and attending these meetings doesn’t have to be intimidating.
Through the ASCO Advocacy at Home program, ASCO staff will set up in-district meetings and site visits, provide talking points on priority issues, and ensure you are fully prepared to visit with your lawmaker or their staff.
