The ASCO Diversity Mentoring Program is designed to encourage medical students and residents who are underrepresented in medicine (URM) to pursue rewarding careers in oncology. The program seeks to educate physicians-in-training about rewarding careers in oncology by fostering relationships with experienced oncologists who can provide career and educational guidance and serve as a professional resource. The ASCO Diversity Mentoring Program offers flexible terms to meet each mentee’s specific mentoring needs. The minimum program commitment is 8-12 weeks, but mentees can opt to complete a mentoring term of up to one-year. The program start date and end date will be determined by the mentoring pair based on the mentee’s goals.
