Last week, members of PracticeNET came together for their biannual networking meeting, where participants reviewed benchmarking data and preliminary results from the 2018 Survey of Oncology Practice Operations, and received updates on new initiatives, including ASCO’s new practice website, ASCO Practice Central.
During the meeting, PracticeNET members also discussed the myConnection Networking Forum, a tool that was recently opened for members of participating practices. This forum is an online community that will help practices learn from each other by allowing members to ask questions and engage in peer-to peer discussion relevant to oncology practice. The forum will also contain information concerning upcoming events, webinar recordings, and a library of other documents.
Meeting participants also had the opportunity to meet Brian Bourbeau, ASCO’s new Associate Director of Business Metrics and Analysis, who will oversee the program and any benchmark and reporting services that are developed. Prior to ASCO, Brian spent 10 years at Oncology Hematology Care in Cincinnati, most recently as Director of Practice Operations, where he led a team to transform the practice from an exclusive fee-for-service in 2012 to a predominately value-based model.
PracticeNET is an ASCO-led network that brings together oncology practices in a unique opportunity to track their data compared to other practices, learn from their peers, and evaluate benchmarks and trends.
