Just One Month Remaining to Participate in the QOPI Fall Round

October 3, 2017

Registration is open for the QOPI® Fall Round. The QOPI® Fall Round ends Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at 5 p.m. (ET).

ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) is an oncologist-led, practice-based quality assessment program designed to promote excellence in cancer care by helping practices create a culture of self-examination and improvement. QOPI provides a standard methodology, robust library of quality metrics for oncology, and collection tool to reliably and routinely assess care, inform quality improvement activities, and demonstrate quality to patients and external stakeholders. Early adopters of QOPI® are well-positioned to meet external reporting requirements for payers and the government and participate in new payment models focused on quality.

Webinars and Trainings

If you need assistance, you can find a video tutorial on the QOPI® Dashboard under “Round Trainings.” In addition, slides and a sound recording of both the Fall 2017 Participant Webinar and the Fall 2017 Abstractor Webinar have been posted to the QOPI® Dashboard. If you have any questions after viewing the presentations, please contact the QOPI® Help Desk.

Module and Pathway Selection

  • New Module: We have a new module this round for Small Cell Lung Cancer.
  • QOPI® Certification: If you are participating in the Fall 2017 Round for certification or re-certification you must select the “QOPI® Certification Pathway”. This is the ONLY required pathway/module for practices certifying or re-certifying. (You do not need to complete the full modules for Core, Breast, Lung, Colorectal, EOL and Sym/Tox as you may have in the past.)
  • For a refresher on data abstraction and chart submission view the “Chart Submission Training Video” under ‘Getting Started & FAQ’ on the QOPI Dashboard

2017 MIPS Reporting Through QOPI®

QOPI is excited to be offering our practices a comprehensive set of tools for completing their 2017 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting to CMS through the QOPI® Reporting Registry, a Qualified Clinical Data Registry, brought to you by ASCO and ASTRO. Practices can report electronically with their electronic medical records or manually through a web-based portal. Participation in QOPI® and being QOPI® Certified can even earn you MIPS points in the “Improvement Activities” category.

To sign up, visit https://qcdr.asco.org/signup/Login.aspx and login with your QOPI® credentials. You must be a corresponding physician (PHC) or QOPI practice administrator (PRA) to sign up. If you need assistance, please view our Sign Up Portal User Guide.
