New Research on Interventions to Address Cost of Cancer Care, Access to Cancer Care to be Highlighted in 2022 ASCO Quality Care Symposium Press Program

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Studies evaluating interventions to reduce the total cost of cancer care and a new analysis of changes in cancer incidence and mortality rates after Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act will be highlighted in the 2022 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Quality Care Symposium’s official Press Program. Studies featured in the Press Program are among the nearly 500 abstracts that will be presented at the Symposium.

The 2022 ASCO Quality Care Symposium, taking place September 30-October 1 in Chicago, Illinois and online, will bring together the international quality care community to discuss the latest clinical advances in quality improvement for every cancer type and treatment approach.

Abstracts will be publicly released on ASCO.org on Monday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m. ET and the embargo will lift at that time. The following abstracts will be promoted with press releases as a part of ASCO’s Press Program:

  • A retrospective study evaluating the total cost of cancer care for patients with and without a navigation intervention. (Abstract 4)
  • Results from a study evaluating the impact of a Medicare value-based care program on the total cost of cancer care within the U.S. Oncology Network. (Abstract 5)
  • Findings from a nationwide study on changes in cancer incidence and mortality rates after Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. (Abstract 74)
