The embargo on all abstracts part of the 2013 Quality Care Symposium will lift at 5:00 PM ET on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. An embargoed presscast (virtual press briefing held via teleconference and webinar) will be held at 12:00 noon ET on October 29 for credentialed media.
HOW TO OBTAIN MEDIA CREDENTIALS AND/OR ATTEND THE SYMPOSIUM IN SAN DIEGO
ASCO's Media Headquarters is where you can go to apply for media credentials, register to attend an upcoming meeting, and access embargoed meeting information. For questions about how to navigate the site, please contact email@example.com.
*If you attended the 2013 ASCO Annual Meeting or covered the meeting remotely, you have already been credentialed by ASCO and will have access to the embargoed meeting information and the October 29 Presscast. You only have to register if you want to attend the Symposium in San Diego.
Please note that media registration is a three-step process:
- Accreditation – Please refer to the 2013 Quality Care Symposium Media Policies for eligibility information
- Registration – Once media credentials are approved, you will be able to log back into Media Headquarters and submit an onsite registration request for the Symposium
- Housing Reservation – Once your onsite media registration is approved by ASCO staff, you can make a housing reservation.

Research From ASCO’s 2013 Quality Care Symposium Highlights Advances in Improving Care
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – New studies released today reveal the effectiveness of several creative new strategies to improve care for people with cancer. These approaches range from a physician training tool centered on virtual patient scenarios to new, standardized criteria for ensuring that patients are referred to palliative care.
