Embargo Policy

The embargo on all abstracts part of the 2014 Breast Cancer Symposium will lift at 5:00 PM ET on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. An embargoed presscast (virtual press briefing held via teleconference and webinar) will be held at 12:00 noon ET on September 2 for credentialed media.

How to Obtain Media Credentials and/or Register to Attend the Symposium in San Francisco

*Media Registration will open on July 9, 2014.

ASCO's Media Headquarters is where you can go to apply for media credentials*, register to attend an upcoming meeting, access embargoed meeting information and locate presscast dial-in information. For questions about how to navigate the site, please contact mediaregistration@asco.org.

*If you attended the 2014 ASCO Annual Meeting or covered the meeting remotely, you have already been credentialed by ASCO and will have access to the embargoed meeting information and the September 2 Presscast. You only have to register if you want to attend the Symposium in San Francisco.

Notable Advances in Breast Cancer Research to be Presented at 2014 Symposium
SAN FRANCISCO – Six studies with a potential to impact the care and treatment of patients with breast cancer will be presented at the 2014 Breast Cancer Symposium in San Francisco, taking place September 4-6. The abstracts, among 160 selected for presentation at the Symposium, investigate methods for predicting cancer upgrade and recurrence; evaluate the long-term effectiveness of fertility preservation during chemotherapy; and explore race, ethnicity, obesity, and BRCA mutation status as they relate to breast cancer. Key Research from the 2014 Breast Cancer Symposium Highlights Advances in Breast Cancer Prevention, Screening, and Therapy
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Five studies from the 2014 Breast Cancer Symposium were highlighted today in an embargoed presscast for reporters. Presentations focused on new studies exploring preventive mastectomy, compliance with recommended screening mammography, and risk of recurrence after pre-surgery therapy for breast cancer.
