Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Courses (MCMC)

Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Courses (MCMC) are designed to improve the level of cancer care globally as well as promote multidisciplinary cancer care. This course provides fundamental training for physicians in countries where cancer patients are frequently treated by non-specialists.

MCMC was developed in response to the pressing global need for training in the principles of multidisciplinary cancer management. The course allows ASCO to take a leadership role in providing basic training and advancing the specialty of medical oncology, promoting the use of clinical trials as a means to improve cancer care, and introducing a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care worldwide.

The MCMC curriculum focuses on cancer management in the most common disease sites and systems. MCMC presentations are sponsored and organized by local oncology professional associations and tailored by the local faculty to meet educational needs in the area. Core course elements include:  cancer biology, multimodality treatment of patients with cancer; surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathologic assessment of cancer as well as prevention and screening.

Apply to host a Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Course, or contact ASCO for more information at mcmc@asco.org.
