EPEC-O CD-ROM
Program Overview
The EPEC™-O Curriculum contained on this CD-ROM is a comprehensive curriculum in Palliative and End-of-life Care developed specifically for clinicians caring for persons with cancer.
The curriculum, divided into 3 Plenary sessions and 15 content modules, has as its purpose:
• To introduce the practicing clinician to the core content of knowledge and skills necessary to provide state of the art palliative interventions for his/her patients with the physical, psychosocial and spiritual suffering associated with cancer.
The EPEC™-O curriculum was initially developed with funding from the National Cancer Institute by the EPEC™ project team based at Northwestern University, with partnership support from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and The Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Learning Objectives:
After completing the EPEC™-O Curriculum on this CD-ROM, participants will be able to:
• Describe the scope of knowledge, attitudes and skills that comprise the core palliative care competencies needed throughout the course of comprehensive cancer care.
• Incorporate the described treatment recommendations and approaches into your clinical practice.

The original release date for this material was March 1, 2007. This activity was reviewed in April 2009 and the expiration date was extended. The CME credit availability expires May 15, 2012.

Obtaining Continuing Medical Education Credit
