Some Oncology Practices Report Difficulty Obtaining Paclitaxel

ASCO is hearing that some oncology practices are having difficulty obtaining paclitaxel, although more supply may be on the way from manufacturers.

The American Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP) is showing the drug as in shortage. Three manufacturers reported that they expected to release new lots in July, so there may be relief soon. Further information about the availability of paclitaxel and causes of the shortage is posted here.
