On April 7, the ASCO State Affiliate Council elected Elizabeth Blanchard, MD, Rahul Seth, DO, and Dave Dillahunt, MPA, CAE, to the State Affiliate Council’s Executive Subcommittee. The group is comprised of six physician members, one being the ASCO Board liaison, and two executive directors. The election was held during the Council’s spring meeting at ASCO in Alexandria, VA.
Dr. Blanchard, representing the Massachusetts Society of Clinical Oncology, will serve as Chair-Elect of the State Affiliate Council. Dr. Seth, representing Upstate New York Society of Medical Oncology will serve as physician member, and Dave Dillahunt from the Kentucky Association of Medical Oncology and Ohio Hematology Oncology Society will serve as one of two executive director members. All newly elected council members will serve a three-year term beginning June 2017.
The State Affiliate Council Executive Subcommittee was established in 2012 as a working body of the State Affiliate Council, which serves as a bridge between the 48 affiliates and ASCO’s national leadership. The Executive Subcommittee advises the ASCO Board of Directors on State/Regional Affiliate matters and serves as the decision-making body for the Council.
