(ASCO) that runs the QOPI Certification Program™, and the Foundation for Excellence and Quality in Oncology (ECO), a nonprofit foundation in Spain, have launched an effort to expand the QOPI Certification Program to Spain. Through the collaboration between ECO and QCP, Spanish oncology practices will be able to apply for QOPI Certification.

On January 24, 2017, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), published “Trends and Patterns of Disparities in Cancer Mortality Among US Counties, 1980-2014” by Modak et al. The study found that cancer deaths in the U.S. declined by 20 percent from 1980-2014, but there were large differences in cancer mortality as well as areas with unusually higher mortality rates across counties.
