NCI Request for Feedback on Case Report Form Harmonization/Standardization
The National Cancer Institute is engaged in an effort to standardize and harmonize case report forms (CRFs). Sections of the CRF are compiled as modules with different modules being review in each Round. Round 3 modules have been released for review by the community (please see request form NCI below). ASCO encourages those involved in research to provide feedback to NCI on Round 3 Modules. Feedback is requested by Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Please send any comments on the "Multi Tab Review Form" to Riki Ohira.
Dear Colleagues,
The third round of the caBIG Case Report Form (CRF) Harmonization & Standardization activity has been completed, and is ready for review. Your feedback is invited at this point to make the final content ready for community adoption and implementation. Select this link to view a number of documents that have been included on the NCI website for your review.
- "Round 3 instructions.docx": It includes general information about the modules from Round 3 and instructions for providing feedback.
- "CRF Round 3.zi": A set of seven (7) PDF files containing the results from our third round of CRF workgroups. There are mandatory, conditional and optional data elements for each CRF module, with a set of instructions for each CRF module. The instructions include an explanation of the variables, and how to use the elements to capture data. The files have been added to a single zip file, which has then been renamed to the ".zi" so as to allow the file past some organizations' e-mail security filters - you will have to rename it back to "CRF Round 3.zip" in order to unpack it.
- "Multi Tab Review Form. xls": Spreadsheets for each module (each module has its own tab) to collect your comments during this review of the Round 3 content. Your comments will be collected and reviewed by the CRF workgroups, with revisions to the content as needed.
The review period for this content will conclude by close of business on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Please send any comments on the "Multi Tab Reviewer Form" to Riki Ohira by this time.
We would like to congratulate the CRF workgroups and their leadership, and everyone connected with these activities to date, for their tremendous effort. Thank you all very much.
