ASCO Launches International Cancer Corps

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – In an effort to improve cancer care in underserved regions of the world, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), in partnership with Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO), today launched a new humanitarian program, the International Cancer Corps (ICC). The ICC will enable member oncologists from ASCO to volunteer their time to teach in medical facilities in developing countries.


ASCO and U.S. Figure Skating Announce Partnership in the Fight Against Cancer

ASCO is the world’s leading professional organization representing physicians who treat people with cancer. ASCO’s patient web site, Cancer.Net (www.cancer.net), will be the public face of the partnership, and will serve as the title sponsor of 2009 Skate America, Nov. 12-15 in Lake Placid, NY. ASCO Calls on Medicare to Abandon Proposed Cuts to Cancer Care

The cuts would jeopardize access to care for patients nationwide – more than 80 percent of Americans with cancer receive care from local, community-based oncology practices.
