ASCO’s 3rd EHR Lab at the 2009 Annual Meeting was successful in providing a standard platform for ASCO members to learn about different EHR products, while also offering attendees the ability to gain hands-on experience with the latest oncology-specific EHR technology and vendors.
*2009 EHR Lab vendor participants can be found in the Vendor Directory
This year, vendors were expected to utilize a common use case scenario to highlight key issues important to oncologist's in evaluating EHRs. At the EHR Lab, vendors demonstrated the capacity of their products to:
- Select qualified patients that meet the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Case Selection Methodology
- Apply chemotherapy order safety principles based on a patient case scenario
- Generate a treatment plan and summary
*QOPI® is an oncologist-led, practice-based quality improvement program. ASCO looks to promote excellence in cancer care by helping practices create a culture of self-examination and improvement.
