Multidisciplinary Cancer Management Courses (MCMC) improve cancer care globally through the promotion of interdisciplinary cancer management. The course provides fundamental training for physicians in countries where patients with cancer are frequently treated by non-specialists and is organized in conjunction with a local or regional society. Attendees are encouraged to work across disciplines to develop patient treatment plans.
The MCMC focuses on 2-3 of the most prevalent cancer types in the host country. Core course presentations include: cancer biology, radiobiology; multidisciplinary cancer care; surgical oncology, medical oncology, and radiation oncology. Also available for presentation are end of life care, clinical trials, prevention and screening, and more.

New MCMC Program! “Train the Trainer”
The MCMC “Train the Trainer” program is designed to increase the understanding of multidisciplinary cancer care concepts and equip organizers of future ASCO courses and other educational activities with effective teaching methods and practical skills for course implementation.
“Train the Trainer” refers to the training of instructors who then themselves conduct their own courses. Participants learn general teaching principles and elements of multidisciplinary treatment, to improve their presentation skills, and discuss implementation strategies for organizing their own MCMC.
The “Train the Trainer” Pilot took place on August 11-13, 2010 in Santiago, Chile. The course was presented in collaboration with the Chilean Oncology Foundation
