2006 State Affiliate Leadership Conference

ASCO’s third annual State Affiliate Leadership Conference took place October 20-21, 2006, in Washington, DC. The purpose of the conference was to provide the leaders of state oncology societies with information and tools on how to strengthen their societies and enhance their current activities, and to learn best practices from other state society leaders. The conference drew fifty-seven leaders – including 41 physicians and 16 society executives – representing 39 of ASCO’s 46 State/Regional Affiliates.

At the 2006 conference, day one focused on leadership development, running effective meetings, and strategic planning. Issues such as electronic health records, working with payers, generating grant ideas, and building relationships with your state medical society were discussed the following day.

You can access the materials distributed at the 2006 conference below.
