State Affiliate Leadership Conference - Day One
ASCO’s second annual State Affiliate Leadership Conference was held October 7-8, 2005, in Arlington, Virginia. The purpose of the conference was to provide the leaders of state oncology societies with information and tools on how to strengthen their societies and enhance their current activities, and to learn best practices from other state society leaders. The conference drew forty-eight leaders – including 31 physicians and 17 society executives – representing 35 of ASCO’s 46 State/Regional Affiliates.
At the 2005 conference, more emphasis was placed on leadership development and strategic planning. Issues and activities that were discussed at the 2004 conference, such as advocacy, fundraising, communications, legal issues, finance and accounting were explored more thoroughly. New discussion topics included establishing payer relationships and administering surveys.
You can access the materials distributed at the 2005 conference below.
