Joint Sponsorship Information

As a service to its State/Regional Affiliates, ASCO offers joint sponsorship of Affiliate meetings in order to provide CME credits. This complimentary service is offered on a case by case basis, provided all paperwork is submitted on time. The Joint Sponsorship Application is a two-part process:  Part I of the Application must be submitted in its entirety no later than 120 days (4 months) prior to the program. Part II of the Application must be submitted in its entirety no later than 60 days prior to the proposed activity date.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) as a provider of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™   for physicians. A jointly sponsored program is defined as a program that is planned and conducted by an ACCME-accredited provider and one or more non-accredited entities.  As such, ASCO’s Education, Science and Career Development Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with the ACCME Essential Areas and Elements for all CME activities.

In order to properly document this type of program, an approved application and a signed agreement form are required for each activity.
