Advanced Cancer Courses
ASCO partners with societies outside of the United States to provide high-level training for experienced oncologists. These courses are developed in collaboration with the host organization and can be adapted from existing ASCO curricula or past joint symposia.
The curricula that are currently available for Advanced Cancer Courses are:
- Cancer Prevention
- Cancer Care in the Older Population
- Cancer Genetics and Cancer Predisposition Testing
- Optimizing Cancer Care: The Importance of Symptom Management
- EPEC-O: The Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care for Oncology Curriculum
Representatives of international societies are encouraged to submit an application to be reviewed by the ASCO International Affairs Committee.
ASCO Advanced Cancer Courses:
- March 27-29, 2008 – Cairo, Egypt. Presented in collaboration with the South and East Mediterranean College of Oncology (SEMCO)
- September 23, 2008 – Manila, Philippines. Presented in collaboration with the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) and Philippine Society of Medical Oncology (PSMO)
- November 6-8, 2008 – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Presented in collaboration with the French Brazilian Society of Oncology (SFBO)
