Learning Objectives

After this symposium, participants will be better able to:
  • Summarize the current status of screening for prostate cancer, including the development of novel molecular markers and diagnostic strategies used in the detection of prostate cancer.
  • Utilize appropriate markers and strategies valuable in risk assessment of patients with localized prostate cancer.
  • Analyze the advances in multidisciplinary care of prostate cancer, specifically the optimal combination of sequencing of various therapeutic options in patients with all stages and states of prostate cancer.
  • Implement changes in the practice setting based on data presented regarding the use of new targeted and cytotoxic agents in advanced prostate cancer.
  • Identify and employ when appropriate new molecular targets for both early and late stage disease.
  • Compare and contrast outcomes for currently used treatment of localized prostate cancer and apply appropriate treatments based on individual patient need.
